Gold standard ADHD Pathway, clear compassionate, NICE aligned process for children, young people and adults

Our Gold-Standard ADHD assessment pathway

A clear, compassionate, NICE‑aligned process for children, young people, and adults.

Whether you are seeking understanding for your child, exploring neurodivergence in adolescence, or wondering if lifelong strengths and challenges might be explained by ADHD in adulthood, our assessment pathway is designed to give you clarity, confidence, and a clear plan for the future.

Stage 1 - Screening Appointment

A warm, welcoming first meeting where we take time to understand your concerns, explore developmental history, and consider how neurodivergence may be showing up in daily life. We will talk through what you’re noticing, answer initial questions and outline whether a full assessment is the right next step.

Outcome: Clear guidance and recommendations.

Stage 4 - In-depth Clinical Interview

A structured, evidence‑based assessment using gold‑standard tools guide the clinical interview to gain insight into specific ADHD symptoms and their impact.

A specific questionnaire is administered examining Executive Functioning, a key area where ADHD presents.

Why it matters: These tools help us understand attention, impulsivity, hyperactivity, regulation and thinking styles.

Stage 2 - Information gathering and history taking

Information is gathered through the  administration of standardised questionnaires before the clinical interview which is tailored to age and stage of life.

For children, This includes the Conners rating scales, a full developmental history and symptom checklist.

For adults, we explore childhood presentation, work/education history, executive functioning, emotional regulation and lived experience.

Why it matters: Neurodevelopmental conditions are lifelong - understanding the whole story is essential.

Stage 5 - Qb check

We use the Qbcheck (Quantified Behavioural check), an objective computer based assessment that measures attention, activity

levels and impulsivity, providing additional information to support clinical understanding.

Why it matters: You benefit from a robust standardised assessment measure ensuring your assessment meets NICE guidance and NHS standards.

Stage 3 - Multi-setting information gathering

We gather insight from the environments that matter most.

For children, this includes school input.

For adults, this may include information from a family member/partner.

Why it matters: Neurodivergence shows up differently across settings - we build a complete picture.
